April Blogging from A-Z Challenge

Click on the image for more information

Writing a post every day during April (except Sundays) will be very challenging for me, but I aim to keep my posts short and simple.

My theme will be "An A-Z of my favourite websites for family history research".

The posts will be most interesting to those who are new to researching their family history or would like to begin looking for their ancestors (particularly in Australia and UK).

At present, there are 978 people signed up for the challenge, who will blog about a variety of different topics over the month.  I tend to read genealogy posts primarily so it will be a good opportunity to visit and read alternate posts.

  2. I'm going to participate and I plan to do Ancestors by names. One of my granddaughters is interested in how all these people I keep talking about are related to her so I'll answer that questions. Look forward to reading your A-Z posts.

    1. I look forward to reading your posts Kristin, which are always interesting. It is great that you have a granddaughter who is interested. My kids do not show any interest at all!

  5. Wow, writing every day for a month - that is a challenge I know I'd fail, since I tend to do it in spurts, rather than regularly. But I wish you all the best, and shall keep an eye out for your posts.

    1. Thanks Alona.
My work doesn't usually allow me to write every day but I aim on keeping posts short and easy to read (I can't find 30 minutes a day for exercise but I will find 30 minutes a day for blogging!). I have all my topics/websites worked out in advance.

It will be a challenge but I am up for it :)

  6. Hi. A new follower. Especially intrigued with your April topic. Have done family history in past and have inherited family archive--part of which I plan to share in A-Z.

  7. I find this theme very interesting. I know very little of my family history. My parents never wanted to talk about their lives and I remember only very few relatives. For some reason we were shunned by them. It's why I never pursued websites because I really do not have much info to go with.

    1. I hope that you can obtain some tips from my posts, although they will be primarily Australian and UK based.

    2. I am German, so perhaps the UK stuff will help

  8. I'll be checking back here often then ... it is always good to know more resources for family history searches.

I am participating in A to Z too.
