Your studio portraits are just lovely. I have only a few and wish my family had been better about getting studio portraits made. What is Jane holding in the first picture?

ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting.
The fan reminded me of one that we have. I just checked: ours has a similar handle but is more elongated in shape and includes a space for a photograph! It appears to be a type of cardboard.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Sharon. I wish the young Catherine was standing I'd love to see her outfit, looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteScott - one of the most popular surnames in the Scottish Borders. When I worked in my local archive centre, our hearts sank when somebody came in and said they were researching "Scotts", especially if they thought they were descended form the Dukes of Buccleuch or writer Sir Walter Scott. The challenge was always to make sure the correct line was being followed.
ReplyDeleteI continue to be impressed by your exceptionally well-done genealogy. I so wish I could do the same, but too much has been lost, destroyed, or never existed.
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying this -- with envy, of course! :)
How wonderful to have all this history of your family. Enjoy the A to Z,
